Los Angeles Day 5: Santa Monica

Day 5- my last full day in Los Angeles :( I loved, loved, loved LA and cannot wait to go back. My trip was absolutely amazing and exactly what I needed in the middle of such a stressful semester. I spent a week with my best friend in the world in a beautiful place, and I would definitely rather still be hanging out in California than at school back in freezing New York.

For my last day we headed back into LA and hit up Santa Monica, the ultimate Cali-style beach neighborhood. Everything was bright and colorful and sunny and beachy- I loved it! Our first stop was Urth Cafe, a very LA restaurant with the best Spanish lattes (my weakness right now). Then it was off to Santa Monica pier, but not before spending wayyyy too much time on the swing set!

The fact that we all lined up for this picture by accident was perfect!

Los Angeles Day 4: Corona Del Mar and Newport

I know, I know, I'm behind on my LA posts but I'm slowly catching up before I head back to school today and get busy again!!

Tuesday I was still in Orange County, and we headed out for another day at the beach! After a delicious (and very California) breakfast in Newport, we went exploring at Corona Del Mar beach, which I loved even more than Laguna. CDM is filled with little hidden caves, tiny beaches tucked away, and breathtaking views of the ocean cliffs. After climbing over the rocky hills, we found these little coves.

The water was a little too cold for us, but that didn't stop any of the locals!

This is the view from Inspiration Point at the top of Corona Del Mar Beach, and it definitely deserves the name. You have to climb up a (very steep) hill, pictured above, but the view is entirely worth it. The top of the cliff gives you a sweeping view of the beach on both sides, with huge, beautiful houses running the length of the water.

I'll take one of these!

I love these little seal statues!

Los Angeles Day 3: Laguna Beach

Day 3 of my trip was my first day in Orange County, which I will try not to refer to as The OC because I know it drives people crazy. Our first stop in The OC Orange County was Laguna Beach- yes, that Laguna Beach. It's definitely more touristy since the show came out, but beautiful all the same.

Peering into the tide pools at Laguna.

All the following photos are via Lauren!!

We found this mural near our tanning spot on the beach and had to snap a few photos before we left for dinner!

Love these girls! I loved being able to spend so much time in such a perfect place with them.

I love California!! When can I move here??
Outfits details: dress (worn as a cover up) Lilly Pulitzer. Hat, vintage. Bag, Michael Kors (borrowed from Lydia). Maxi dress, Vince Camuto.

Los Angeles Day 2: Abbot Kinney

It is technically Day 5 of my LA trip, but I've been so busy running around that I haven't had time to sit down and blog! I've barely been at my computer the past few days, but I am finally starting to catch up.

Sunday, or Day 2, we walked around the Hollywood farmer's market, and even though I didn't buy anything I loved seeing all the fresh fruits and vegetables, something that is rare in New York. I also fell in love with this mural- I have a bit of an obsession with Audrey Hepburn.

Sunday I left LA and headed out to Orange County to see Lydia and to pick up our friend Lauren, who had booked a trip last minute. I've been in the OC for the past couple of days but I'm headed back into LA for the last part of my trip today!

Sunday night Lydia and I went to Abbot Kinney in Venice (California not Italy), a trendy, hipster-ish street full of shops and restaurants that is apparently a hot spot for bloggers. Needless to say I took advantage of the murals on every corner for a photo op.

Driving down Venice Blvd. with the top down made me want to never leave this city.

Only Lydia and I would not see each other for a few days and still wear coordinating outfits.

Sunday was a relaxing day, I will have the other days of my trip up today and tomorrow! Until then, stay tuned and enjoy your own spring breaks!
